This series of photographs was made in 2019, depicting a portrait of the artist Prince, screenprinted on a wrinkled t-shirt.
While doing the laundry one day, I tossed a shirt on the bed and turned away to fold some other clothes. When I turned back around, a crude likeness of Prince was staring back at me. Folded and scrunched, like it was mocking me. Smitten with this hilarious distortion, I decided to photograph the portrait as I nudged, pulled, picked up and dropped the shirt.
The images are roughly 3.5"x5", silver gelatin prints.
